Sunshine...finally!

The sun came out today for the first time since I've been here and made for a beautiful day! Some Turner folks from Atlanta extended some 'southern hospitality' to me and invited me to join them for a trip to Stanley Market. We met at the office this morning and then starting out on a walk through Quarry Bay Park. The park runs right along the harbor, and with the sun shining - it was a very pleasant stroll. With little old ladies doing tai chi, to people playing tennis and kids riding their bikes - this was a nice side of the city to see. We eventually made our way to a bus stop where we boarded to head to Stanley. We got on a doubledecker bus and sat up top in the front row next to the big window that made for a great ride. You can see everything from up there! I tried to catch snap shots along the way but kept getting a glare from the window. In about 30 minutes we were in Stanley, which is a city on the southeast side of Hong Kong island. The big draw in Stanley is the market, which had lots of fun goodies to stock up on. I'm finishing my gift shopping very quickly with all of these markets!


After eating some seafood at a restaurant facing the South China Sea and doing quite a bit of shopping, we climbed in a taxi to head to Repulse Bay. When we got there we walked to an old temple that had the coolest statues. Here are a few, although I took so many more pictures that I can't wait to show all of you when I get back. (I'm already over 100 pictures!)

Afterwards, we all headed back to the city and went our separate ways. I spent some time walking around the streets of Times Square and then caught the train to head back home. With tired feet again, I think I'll sleep pretty well tonight to get ready for another week back at work.
